Emergency relief is given to assist people who are in financial crisis and those clients participating in financial counselling or as part of the Family Support program. This may include power, gas, food, food vouchers, rent arrears and medical assistance. The ER is given as a part of a case management process where the client sees a financial counsellor for a financial assessment.
Currently we have funding with the Commonwealth Government as well as from Lotterywest. The Federal Government Emergency Relief is subject to Government distribution and there is no guarantee of funding or amount given. Lotterywest Emergency Relief is applied for annually with no guarantee of continuation.
People who live in and around Belmont are our first priority but we may be able to assist other people if enough funding is available.
Jacaranda Community Centre has two streams of funding, Commonwealth through DSS and Lotterywest.
