JACARANDA ABORIGINAL WOMENS PROGRAM
Aboriginal women living and around the City of Belmont have been supported by Jacaranda for 16 years. Belmont is known as one of the lowest socio economic areas in Western Australia. Jacaranda endeavours to provide avenues for Aboriginal women to come to assist in the betterment of their lives in a holistic way. We endeavour to increase general wellbeing and to provide a service which decreases social isolation as well as increasing financial stability overall.
Through women’s programs in the past we have achieved our goals and wish to continue that success via your generous assistance.
The main areas of healthy lifestyle, financial stability, healthy eating, personal safety, artistic endeavours, self-esteem and confidence, first aid as well as pamper and information sessions will be utilised to allow the local Indigenous women to live the best lives they can. Please see attached outline for further information.
We have found from our experience that a varied and holistic way of presenting programs works within the context of our local community.
